We are giving the students of Peterson Elementary more opportunities.

Success! The 5 for 5 Campaign made it's goal!

With the help of over 60 individuals, Friends of Peterson was able to reach its $5000 goal! With the generous $5000 matching donation, we will be able to purchase critically important literacy curriculum for our youngest struggling readers.

These leveled literacy interventions have been used during, before, and after-school programming at Peterson, and the positive results have been clear – students in the program improved their reading skills by an average of 15.5 points, as measured by the NWEA MAP Assessment.  In addition to these impressive results, many students were able to demonstrate increased confidence in their reading skills, and were able to begin reading at grade level for the first time.  Being able to expand these interventions, targeted at our youngest students, will have a positive impact on their academic lives for years to come.

Our annual Beer for Books was a great success!
