Below are the Day-Of Logistics Regarding the Walk-a-thon

We are so excited that you are signed up to participate in the Walk-a-Thon this Saturday morning!  We wanted to let you know about some important logistics about the event.

First, registration will be on the Christiana side of the Peterson Field beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Please check-in at the tables there. The walk will begin at 9 a.m. led by the Peterson Panther & Principal Nieves!

Second, all children must be accompanied by an adult. This is a fun family event so please join us!!  And, for those of you who purchased a Walk-a-Thon t-shirt, please wear it on Saturday.

Third, there will be fun stops along the route including a Snack Station at Catalpa & Christiana. At the end of the route, we will have live music, temporary tattoos, games, pictures and more.  The event will end by 11 a.m.

Fourth, all are welcome to enjoy the walk, but if you would like to help fundraise for Peterson, we would be grateful for your assistance in reaching our goal of raising $30,000 to support STEAM programming at Peterson.  Donate now or share information with family and friends at www.friendsofpeterson.org.  All donations and pledge forms (for cash or checks) are due by Monday, May 22nd to the Main Office.

Fifth, a Peterson student-created map of the route is attached. We will also have arrows marking the route.  For those who are curious about the route, we will begin on the Peterson Field and head north on Kimball, and then west on Bryn Mawr to the Northeastern Illinois University campus.  We will walk throughout the northern end of campus, but because of sidewalk construction, will exit onto St. Louis Avenue near Catalpa. We will walk south on St. Louis to Berwyn, walk east on Berwyn and will then take Bernard Street north.  We will head east on Catalpa Avenue to Christiana Avenue and enter the Peterson field.

Sixth, in the event of rain, the Walk-a-Thon will continue. If thunderstorms are likely, we will postpone the event. We will email you and send a robocall on Saturday morning if the event is postponed.
